Ability Specialist’s original focus was to provide group activities in an effort to foster peer development and community safety skills for those with developmental disabilities. Over the years we have learned that intentional development of self-esteem and self-confidence enriches the individual’s life from the inside out. This approach successfully helped many participants reach their goals.
During our years of operation we have received commendations from several community groups and other organizations. Our programs have also been reviewed and approved by the Department of Human Services’ Division for Developmental Disabilities. Ability Specialists’ contributions have also been recognized by the Arc of Arapahoe and Douglas counties, and our volunteer groups have been named 'Volunteers of the Year' by several community organizations. Our record of contributions to the community is an endorsement of programs that we have worked hard to build, and will work harder to maintain.
