Ability Specialists was founded in January 1999 by Rick and TJ Sison, who also have cognitive disabilities.
Born with ADHD, TJ also experienced other learning disabilities stemming from ADHD, including dyslexia, comprehension difficulties and behavioral issues. Learning and relationship development have been life-long challenges for TJ. Rick was born with ADD, also accompanied by other learning disabilities. During his primary education years these struggles led him into Special Education classes. Facing and overcoming these obstacles and challenges has inspired TJ and Rick to teach others what they have learned over the years. Through their personal experiences they have grown to see the potential in every human being, not their disabilities. Their own story of inner strength and determination is not only an inspiration; it serves as a foundation for others to build upon as they face similar challenges in life.
