Kassi's Inspiring Journey: From Volunteer to Work Crew Superstar

We are absolutely thrilled to share the fantastic story of Kassi, a client who recently achieved a major milestone by joining our Work Crew in September!

Kassi has been a cherished member of the Ability Specialists community since 2014, initially participating on the volunteer side and enjoying our social events for many years. We’ve watched Kassi blossom into a true bundle of joy—she’s always smiling and brings an incredibly positive attitude to everything she does.

Evolving Skills, Achieving Goals

Moving Kassi to the Work Crew was the result of consistent growth and careful planning. We conducted a Social Living Skills Assessment, using the Assessment of Functional Living Skills (AFLS), to evaluate her readiness. We are so proud of how Kassi has evolved in key areas essential for the workplace, including her ability to stay on task and regulate emotions, as well as improving her spatial awareness and safety skills.

These achievements have prepared her to become a valuable asset to the workforce, and now she is proudly earning a paycheck! Kassi’s mom is thrilled with the personalized support provided throughout this transition, seeing her daughter gain new confidence.
