From Oʻahu to Colorado: Welcoming Donna Nazarchyk, Our New BCBA
We are thrilled to introduce the newest addition to the Ability Specialists leadership team, Donna Nazarchyk. As our new Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Donna is tasked with a vital mission: helping create person-centered plans that support meaningful behavioral milestones for our participants.
Rooted in Community and Connection
Born and raised on the island of Oʻahu, Donna’s professional journey is deeply influenced by the values of community, culture, and human connection. She brings an impressive educational background to our team, having earned graduate degrees from both the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and Chaminade University.
What makes Donna’s approach unique is her dual-lens perspective. In addition to being a BCBA, she is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), allowing her to view behavioral support through a deeply therapeutic and empathetic framework.
A Compassion-Based Approach
In a field that can sometimes feel clinical, Donna practices Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) with a heart. She prioritizes dignity, respect, and the "whole person," ensuring that every individual is understood within the context of their unique strengths, values, and lived experiences.
"Meaningful progress occurs when individuals are understood within the context of their unique strengths, values, and lived experiences." — Donna Nazarchyk
Collaboration for Quality of Life
Donna believes that the best outcomes happen when we work together. She is committed to close collaboration with each member of an individual’s support team to ensure consistency and shared understanding.
Her ultimate goal is simple yet profound: to help our members achieve an improved quality of life by fostering independence and empowerment in ways that are ethical, humane, and perfectly aligned with their personal goals.
Please join us in giving Donna a warm welcome to the Ability Specialists family!
